A MAGAZINE CASE STUDY
When the owner of prominent Charlotte, NC real estate firm, Dickens Mitchener, had the idea to create a content-driven halo publication, she had a clear vision, but no resources or place to start. As a luxury firm, any piece Dickens Mitchener produced would have to stand up to their coveted area reputation as a top producer. Vicki Mitchener approached Foster Design Collaborative with energy and enthusiasm and that’s what we ran with.
We were brought in at the start of the project and worked with Vicki and her internal marketing team to not only define the luxury look and feel of the publication, but also to provide the resources to plan and produce the content. Getting it right the first time was crucial, as the magazine would dictate the graphic direction of the firm's marketing and collateral materials going forward.
FDC facilitated interviews, edited articles, executed page layouts, retouched photos, coordinated the printing, and brought the project together into a finished format that exceeded expectations on every front.
What began as a single issue became a regular seasonal publication and a key sales tool that has helped the firm stand out in the ultra-competitive residential market.
“Foster Design really understood the look and layout we wanted for our new magazine….it was a huge success! We continue to get amazing feedback on the magazine, not only from our clients but from our competitors as well.”
After three issues, the value was proven and we took the lead in training the Dickens Mitchener internal staff to take over production of the magazine.
No matter where you are in the process, Foster Design Collaborative can step in to assist in a variety of capacities and scale our services to fit where you need support.
