Reflections of an Island Girl
A SOFT COVER CASE STUDY
A resident of one of the Lake Erie islands, Christie Ontko had long dreamed of becoming an author. As a columnist for the island’s newspaper, the Put-in-Bay Gazette, she was encouraged by her many fans to publish her columns but didn’t know where to start.
Christie was referred to Foster Design by one of our clients. We worked with her to turn the stories she had collected during her years with the newspaper into the book she had been hoping to create. Foster Design did the editing, layout, proofreading, and created the custom cover illustration for her Reflections of an Island Girl, the first in a series she plans to write.
“Peggy was extremely patient, kind, and thorough throughout the editing process of my book. She helped organize chapters and offered suggestions for clarity so the reader’s experience would be the best!
The final result of my book is stunning! The front cover is colorful, yet not overbearing. Extremely professional. So far, it’s selling well in my shop.
I highly recommend Foster Design, because without their help my book wouldn’t have looked and felt so professional. I look forward to working with them again on another book project in the future.”
