Brown Family covers more than 200 years of a New England shipping family’s history as captains, brokers, and ship owners during America’s golden age of sail and the rise of the steamship industry. With full color and black and white images on nearly every page, it also has sections at the back for chapter notes, three appendixes of family trees, a bibliography, and three indexes of captains, vessels, and family relatives.
